Got this enormous piece of glass in the post today.

When I had my boy 5 years ago, I kinda had to semi-retire from the live circuit, or quiet quitting I think they call it today..

I remember how depressed it made me to give up my career, one that had been a big part of my identity for 12 years, but I ploughed my efforts into teaching, started a daytime comedy club for new parents and started making comedy teaching my main income.

Last year I started Comedy on Referral, a new way to look at comedy education, from a thereputic perspective.
I tried to do what I've always thought the job of comedy was, to change the world. (I don't care if I sound like a wanker, I truly mean it)

My background was in personal development, working with young offenders and working to make the arts more accessible. I've always thought that the job of art is to help people, that the process of creating art was about soothing something in the soul and releasing people from their worldly constraints.

Art can change you.

Th projects I've created have made me so happy, in fact to be honest, I'm happiest teaching, writing and producing and don't miss the buzz of the live industry.

What this award means to me is that even if I'm not on stage every might, i can still change the world, I can help people. and I'm not gonna lie, I love the accolade of Comedian of Emancipation.

The glass got a bit chipped during transit, but we all know the best art comes from trauma yeah?

Good, just checkin'

A million thanks for this Haags Comedy Festival

Marvellous. Well deserved. It’s been a delight to watch you adapt and grow since Ulysses changed everything. You are an inspiration x

Congratulations! That's brilliant.

Superb stuff - well done!

Something to be utterly proud of. And we're proud of you, too. Big hugs.
